<p>As of January 1, 2012 all organizations that provide goods or services to members of the public and employ at least one employee in Ontario must comply with the <em>Act</em>.</p>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">.</span></p>
<p>Small businesses in the customer service industry are not exempt from regulations governing &#8220;accessibility standards&#8221; for persons with disabilities.  The <em>Act</em> provides that organizations found not to be in compliance with the law can be subject to administrative penalties of up to $100,000 per day.</p>
